What if I sent money to the wrong account?
Recipient account accuracy is your responsibility — always double-check the details on the Review step before confirming.
If you realise after the fact that you sent to a wrong-but-valid account number (a real account belonging to someone else):
- We are not obliged to refund these transfers. By the time we know, the funds are in another person's bank account and getting them back depends entirely on that account holder and the destination bank's recall process.
- We will help on a best-effort basis. Contact support with your transfer reference and as much detail as you have. We work with our payout partners to attempt recovery, but it isn't guaranteed and may take significant time.
- Costs may apply. Some recall requests involve fees from the destination bank or our partners. If there are any, we will tell you upfront and only proceed with your approval.
If the account number you used was invalid (the account doesn't exist, is dormant, is closed, or was rejected by the bank), the transfer will fail and the funds return to your Automatcher wallet automatically — see Why is my transfer in "Error" status?.
