The amount my recipient got is less than I expected — why?
The amount we quote you is exactly what we send. Kangaroo Service does not charge any correspondent or intermediary bank fees — the "They receive" amount on your transfer summary is what arrives at the destination bank.
The most common reason for a discrepancy is destination bank fees. Some recipient banks charge an incoming-transfer fee that they deduct before crediting the account. We don't see or control these — they're set by the recipient's bank.
A secondary cause is FX rounding on the destination side — for currencies that round to whole units (JPY, IDR, KRW, etc.), the credited amount may be 1 unit different from what we sent.
If you suspect your recipient received significantly less than this, send our support team your transfer reference and a screenshot of their bank statement and we'll investigate.
