Sending to a countryJapan
How are funds delivered to a bank account in Japan?
Payouts in Japan are delivered to the recipient's bank account through Japan's domestic bank network (commonly referred to as the Zengin system, which connects banks across the country for domestic transfers).
To send to Japan, you'll need your recipient's:
- Bank name
- Branch name (Japanese accounts are identified by a branch as well as the bank)
- Account number
- Recipient's full name as registered with the bank
Because accounts are tied to a specific branch, it's important to confirm the branch details with your recipient — funds are delivered to the account details you provide.
