Is Kangaroo Service a licensed remittance provider for transfers to India?
Yes. Kangaroo Service is registered with the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) as a Remittance Dealer. In Australia, a business cannot legally provide remittance services without appearing on the AUSTRAC Remittance Sector Register.
What "remittance" means on the Indian side
When your transfer reaches India, it arrives through licensed banking channels as a foreign inward remittance — the formal term Indian banks use for money received from overseas. That classification is what determines how the receiving bank handles the credit, and it is why a few India-specific questions come up:
- Account type matters. Funds can be credited to a resident account, or to an NRO or NRE account if your beneficiary is a non-resident Indian. The account type affects how the money can later be used or repatriated.
- A PAN card is not needed from us. We do not require one to process your transfer — see Do I need a PAN card? for what the receiving bank may ask.
- The receiving bank may apply its own rules on foreign inward remittances, particularly for larger amounts.
Delivery into the beneficiary account runs over India's national payment rails — IMPS, NEFT and UPI — depending on the bank and the amount.
